A few days ago, shortly after beginning the task of sanding the hull smooth -- relatively smooth, anyway -- I shot these pix. I had just finished the easy part -- going over the large surfaces with my random-orbit sander. All the rest of the work would be done by hand, and it would take a long, long time.
Observe, for instance, the nasty lumps and bumps and depressions in the next photo (MY depression is not visible, evident though it may be).
From a distance, though, it looks like it's all going to turn out fine. See? I may have a long-distance love affair with my boat.
It turns out that getting the seams along the strake edges smooth was easier than lot of these other issues. You can't see it here, but it's happening. It's all coming together. Those fillets around the skeg and skids, though ... yikes. What rank amateur made those anyway?
